Topical Skin Solution

Topical skin solutions are liquid products applied directly to selected areas of the skin. Depending on the formulation, the category may include clarifying spot solutions, exfoliating liquids, hydrating essences or soothing preparations supplied in dropper, spray, roller or controlled-pour bottles. Their ingredients and intended uses vary widely, so the label should determine how each product is classified and used. Compare the main active ingredients, concentration, application area and recommended frequency, particularly when choosing formulas containing exfoliating acids or other potentially irritating ingredients. Introduce stronger products gradually, avoid the eyes and broken skin unless the label specifically permits use there, and discontinue use if significant irritation develops. Daytime sunscreen is especially important when a formula can increase sun sensitivity.
