Tanning Gel

Tanning gels include lightweight self-tanning formulas and temporary bronzing products designed to spread easily and dry relatively quickly. Depending on the formula, they may provide instant colour that washes away or contain dihydroxyacetone, which temporarily darkens the outermost skin layer as the colour develops. Choose the shade depth, development time and finish that suit your experience and skin tone. Exfoliate dry areas beforehand, apply evenly with a tanning mitt, wash your hands after use and allow the gel to dry before dressing. Patch testing is sensible for sensitive skin, and self-tanning colour does not provide protection from ultraviolet radiation, so sunscreen remains necessary.
