Daily Mouthwash

Daily mouthwash can complement brushing and interdental cleaning as part of an oral-care routine. Available options include breath-freshening rinses, fluoride mouthwashes, alcohol-free formulas and therapeutic products containing ingredients intended for plaque or gum care. Choose mouthwash according to its active ingredients and intended purpose. Fluoride rinses can support cavity prevention, while other therapeutic formulas may contain cetylpyridinium chloride, essential oils or prescription ingredients. Mouthwash does not replace brushing and cleaning between the teeth. Follow the stated rinsing time, do not swallow the liquid and check age restrictions; daily fluoride rinses are generally not recommended for children under six because they may swallow them.
