Sensitive Skin Care

Sensitive skin care may include fragrance-free cleansers, soothing serums, moisturisers, barrier balms and sunscreen designed for skin that easily feels tight, itchy, hot or uncomfortable. Useful formulas are generally simple and gentle, with moisturising ingredients such as glycerin, petrolatum or ceramides rather than several strong active ingredients in one routine. Introduce one new product at a time and choose products labelled fragrance-free rather than merely unscented, as unscented formulas can still contain ingredients that mask odours. Avoid over-cleansing and discontinue products that cause persistent burning, swelling or redness. Ongoing sensitivity may indicate an underlying skin condition that needs assessment.
