Sunscreen Oil

Sunscreen oil combines an oil-like texture with labelled ultraviolet protection and may appeal to shoppers with normal or dry skin. It should be distinguished from ordinary tanning or body oils, which may provide little or no sun protection unless a tested sun protection factor and broad-spectrum claim are clearly stated. Check the label for broad-spectrum coverage, protection factor and whether the product is water resistant for 40 or 80 minutes. An oily texture does not make a sunscreen waterproof or allow less frequent application. Apply enough to cover the skin evenly and reapply at least every two hours and after swimming, sweating or towel drying.
